After waiting for 2 years, our tough but fascinating overseas trip comes again. This year, we are very honoured to have Big Sister and her son Ron to join us. As Tin could not leave his job for a long time, we set off first to visit Stella at York again.
It was very difficult for me to decide what to pack for the trip. You could experience 4 seasons in one day. Besides, Wati, my domestic helper, left Hong Kong one day prior to our departure. I had to pack a few days earlier so that I could do the last minute shopping before she left. One day when I went out shopping, I asked Faye to match 9 outfits for the trip. My instruction was quite clear. There must 2 pair of trousers. Each trousers should be matched with 2 T-shirts. When I came back home, the outfits were tidily placed on my bed. On some of the outfits, there were even bracelets, hair bands and clips. Faye was a really girl!
It’s around 7 am. We were about to leave. Tin drove us to the airport this time.
We met Ron and Big Sis at the Cathay Check-in desk. Again, the children were very curious at the conveyor belt.
We ate breakfast after going through the immigration. Again, they liked acting as pilot at the food court.
We woke up quite early this morning. Tyler was very sleepy. On the contrary, Ron and Trevor were very excited.
Before getting on the plane, Tyler and Faye both wanted to sit with their little cousin Ron. They both secretly persuaded Ron to say their names when his mom asked him who he wanted to sit with. Finally, Faye sat next to him. Tyler played games without any self control, which made me very angry. We had lots of quarrels over this issue in the following days.
It was meal time soon. Tyler and Faye served themselves well. I had to keep an eye on Trevor since he might spilt carelessly. Besides, he could not feel the food on his face. Big sis did not have good time on the plane as Ron was quite clinging to her all the time. Although we understood facing a strange and uncomfortable environment for hours was not a pleasant experience, it was quite frustrating to deal with him sometimes.
Finally! Finally we reached the ground. There were so many visitors but again, we were spotted to jump the queue. The process was so smooth. Afterwards, we took the Piccadily Line to Kings Cross train station. Ron did not sleep much on the plane. He was very sleepy on the Tube. Faye even fell asleep!
After 1 hour travelled on the Tube, we reached Kings Cross. I booked the train which was 4 hours after the plane’s arrival. There was no delay and everything was so smooth. We had to wait for 2 hours. Faye was so sleepy that she skipped her dinner. Tyler asked for Whopper Junior for dinner. He was quite impolite and self-centred. Again, we had lots of quarrels with him over this issue as well in the coming days.
I could not buy the tickets for any night planes departing Hong Kong. Departing in the morning was surely not a good option. No one slept well on the plane. While we were waiting for the train, Faye, Ron and Tyler could not help falling asleep. However, Trevor refused to sleep.
Finally Trevor fell asleep too. York was not the terminus. I was afraid that we forgot to get off at York station. Therefore, I set the alarm in case I fell asleep.
Everything went smoothly. We arrived on time. Dave picked us up at the station. Faye and I took a taxi while others hopped in his car. We took a shower and went to bed. It’s been 23 hours since we left home.
