Kinderdijk!
Tyler’s Journal
Today we went to Kinderdijk. It was very far from our B&B, so we had to spend lots of time travelling. We first took the tram to the Amsterdam Centraal Station. Then we had to take a train to Rotterdam Central Station. We still had to take the Metro to Beurs. And at last took a bus.
Kinderdijk was named after a legend saying that a flood hit Holland which made huge destruction to everything except a very young child in a basket.
I liked this place very much. We could even go in one of the windmills! At first we decided to rent a bike. But then there were no bikes suitable for me so we walked. Dad and me took lots of photos of the windmills and our family.
It was nearly lunchtime. We ate sandwiches and waffles. Worst of all, I ate cinnamon sticky cakes! We walked for half an hour to the windmill we could go in. Inside, I saw huge gears that could kill. Again, dad and me took lots of photos. Time to go.
We went to watch a film about windmills. It wasn’t in English, so we couldn’t understand. It was time to leave Kinderdijk. Again, we had to travel for a long time back to the B&B. Before we went back, we went to the supermarket to buy veggies and sausages. We also bought a bottle of Kiwi and orange juice.
