2008/7/14-19 York again!

Our summer trip this year is York + Switzerland. Just like last year, Dad is not able to leave his work for too long. Tyler, Faye and Trevor go with me to York first. Stella is a very helpful and caring mother. I do not have to worry anything if I stay at her home. The only thing that I have to worry is the long way from home to York and from York to Heathrow Airport to join Dad.

2008/7/14 Day 0

At 8:50 pm, we take a taxi to Mongkok market the change A21. We are very lucky. Not long after the airbus moves, it rains heavily. Dad is not as lucky as us. He is wet through when he is walking back home. Trevor and Faye are very cooperative. They go to the toilet before boa rding. At 10:55 pm, they were very sleepy. But the ex citement of travelling on an aeroplane keeps them awake.

Tyler and Faye sleep on the seats next to me while Trevor sleeps alone on the seat behind me.

2008/7/15 Day 1

The night on the plane is wonderful. They only wake up a several times and fall asleep again. We use the new Terminal 5. (left) We are on the way to the Tube. (2nd) It is 6:26 am. No one is waiting for the underground train. (3rd) Things go smoothly. We arrive Kingscross one and a half hour before the train to York departs. We buy a cup of fruit salad at Marks & Spencer. It cost 4.19 pounds! What an expensive salad cup I have ever bought. (last) Every time after Trevor eats a pineapple/grape, he shows such face. However, he keeps asking for another piece.

At 10:04 am. We played Pictionary on the train. Faye is full of energy after a short nap.

Uncle Dave picks us up at 11:00 am. We eat some sandwiches and then go to a large park. The children show no sign of jet lag but I am cold and tired and ...

2008/7/16 Day 2

Trevor is the last one to wake up. I feel quite relaxed. After we have our breakfast and Dave sends Jody to school, we go to Flamingo Land. It is a zoo and theme park combo.

We have sandwiches for our lunch. Faye eats four sandwiches!!! She scares Uncle Dave. Faye saves the crust and her teeth tread the crust like a sewing machine. It is a special way of enjoying her food.

One the way home, they are so tired that they all fall asleep on the car.

2008/7/17 Day 3

Stella takes a day off today since Dave is sick. Stella help take Jody to school. It is a tough job for a sick person since Jody starts riding bike to school so an adult has to run after him to help him in case. Trevor plays with switches on the wall. He refuses to apologize, so he cannot go to National Railway Museum.

(3rd above) There is a Chinese dragon decorating a Chinese steamengine. (4th) Doncaster is the name of a train station on the way from Kingscross to York.

They like the education centre at the museum. We can use a hammer to check a wheel. If there is a crack, the sound is dull.

Trevor is having his dinner when we come back.

2008/7/18 Day 4

Trevor cried a lot this morning. Uncle Dave put him sleep in the conservatory with Jody. Jody is sick, so he has a sick leave. Tyler concentrates on his stained glass colouring book which we bought yesterday at NRM. Faye picks some apples, strawberries and beans at the garden.

We go shopping today at Designer Outlet. We bought some clothes and shoes. We bought a lot of books from 'The Works'. There is a outdoor playground at the mall. We spend a hour there. Stella cooks Yorkshire puddings this evening. Tyler loves the gravy most.
