2008-7-20 Switzerland Day 2 (Bern)

9:26 a.m. This is a large hotel. The restaurant is big also. The breatfast is very yummy. I like the cheese very much.

10:53 a.m. We are walking to Interlaken East Station. Tyler did not sleep well in the trip. Therefore he has got some ulcers. Poor Tyler.

Last night, I went to here (so far!) to buy ice-cream cone. I was afraid tit melted, so I ran back to the hotel. (right) The water flows in a fast pace. I dare not let them go too close on their own.

11:35 a.m. Trevor was very hot last night. Fortunately, the fever is gone today. We dare not go to Jungraujoch in case he does not recover completely.

11:45 a.m. "Sleep!" It is night time since we are in a tunnel. "Wake up!" We come to the light again.

Linda told me before that everywhere in Switzerland is like the story of Heidi. It is true.

1:14 p.m. I pack umbrellas every day in my bag except today! But today is the only rainy day. It rained heavily, so we stopped at a bus stop. It does not make sense to walk over 15 minutes to Einstein House. Therefore, we take a bus. (right) We are looking for something to eat.

The restaurant in the picture below sells pizzas and pastas. Tyler has tummyache since the beginning of the Switzerland trip. He does not eat anything at all. (right) Tyler and Trevor are both sleeping. Faye finds her way to enjoy waiting for the rain to stop.

2:50 p.m. The rain finally stops. We buy an umbrella since on the way to meet the bear, there is no shelter. (right) 3:13 p.m. "Brown bear brown bear, what do you see?" Trevor and Faye love this song so much. So as the real brown bear.

3:20 p.m. Tyler knows that bear is very fierce. Therefore he refuses to take a look at the beginning. He pretends he is still fast asleep.

We wait for a few minutes to see how special this special clock tower is. But there is nothing special. (second) This is the little apartment the Einsteins lived in when he is in Bern. Perhaps this s a 'home', Trevor sits on teh floor and takes off his shoes. How funny and curteous he seems to be.

5:09 p.m. After leaving Eintein House, we met a man call Johnny, who came from HK over 40 years ago. He is very happy to meet people coming from HK. He is so nice to show us the way to the station, take us to the supermarket, explain different thigs to us, wait for train with us, help us take family photo... His family is still i=living in HK (Chin's family).

5:39 p.m. We have our dinner on the train again. When we are arriving Spiez, we see a rainbow. No passengers are surprised except us. Tyler, Faye and Trevor have never seen a real rainbow before. We hurry to get off the train to see the rainbow. Unfortunately, we are too late. It is disapperaing when we get to the shore.

6:09 p.m. So disappointed! We go back the station to wait for the next train back to Interlaken. Using railpass is so good that we can get off at any station that we like, without worrying pay extra fare. (right) The house in Switzerland is not expensive at all.

7:58 p.m. After all kids finish their bath, they watch TV as usual (for trip only). I am busy at packing thick clothes for our Jungfraujoch trip tomorrow. Trevor does not have fever any more. We are so happy!
