2010/8/11 Austria Day 7 – Hundertwasserhaus 百水公寓

Good Morning!  We had three bunk beds in our hotel room.  Tyler, Faye and Trevor slept on the upper deck while adults and Ron used the lower one.  The children ate the last 2 packs ‘Fuk Mien’, with lots of lettuce at the pantry.  The pantry recalled my memory of living in Shaw Hostel No.1.

Tin ate cup noodles while the kids ran and shout at the garden.  We were very sorry to the people staying next to our room.

After we left our luggage in the luggage room, we went to the Bahn station.

Big Sis and I had no noodles for breakfast.  So we ate hot and yummy pizza at the Bahn station food booth.

We took a Bahn first.

Then we were on a tram.  The children were very excited on the tram but Tin and I had a bit worry.  It was because tram was not a tourist friendly transportation.  The doors closed in a flash.  Tyler and we were separated by a tram door in Germany 3 years ago.

Finally, we got off safely.

Our first destination was Hundertwasserhaus (Hundred Water House).

It was a residential building.  Residents were very unlucky since every day, from early in the morning to evening, the street where Hudertwasserhaus stood were full of tourists, just like us.  We looked up, take photos and talked excitedly.  Some tourists even use binoculars.  We thought it was quite disturbing.

The designer of Hundertwasser Haus did not like things regular.  None of the window were identical in size.

Ron hit Trevor hard. Trevor burst in tears at once.  The residents of Hundertwasserhaus and its poor neightbours suffered more!  Luckily, Trevor forgave Ron very soon.

Faye loved shopping very much.  She insisted buying something for Wati and Linda.  I bought 4 Mozart chocolate balls too.  But one of them melted in my bag and was found stuck on the camera later at the airport.  At the tourist information centre, a book showed the inside of Hundertwasserhaus.  The stairs were also irregular as well.

The toilet below was also designed by the same designer of Hundertwasserhaus.  Being so famous, the entry fee is 60 cents per head, which was 10 cents higher than that of others in Salzburg and Wien.  In the toilet, no mirror is regular.

It was a nice morning for all of us.
